Idyllic in Italy

The Tuscan countryside must be amongst the most beautiful in the world and this home really does do justice to its beautiful setting.

Imagine a meal on this patio looking out over those rolling green hills eating delicious Italian food. What bliss!

The home is furnished in a relaxed and comfortable way, but without compromising on style.

The kitchen and dining room are simply furnished with terracotta tiles underfoot, perfectly cool in the hot summers.

Slipcovers, white linen, rustic lime-washed  beams and French doors bringing the outside in - what more could you ask for.

The main bedroom, beautifully dressed in white.

Interesting details are evident in every corner, but always kept simple.

I love this bedroom with it's pretty beds and subtle colours.

Well I hope you enjoyed this little Italian interlude and that the coming week will be kind to you.
Till next time

Pale and Pretty

I was so pleased when I stumbled upon pictures of this house in Costa de Sol, Spain. I have long admired the dining room below which is often shown on the net, and wondered what the rest of the house would look like. Well... here it is.... and it doesn't disappoint! I am completely smitten with the exposed trusses and chandelier in the above picture.
The beautiful dining room with its very interesting light fitting and gorgeous table.
Notice the pretty ceiling detail.
The living room with blond wood and pale blue.
Light and bright kitchen.

French doors open onto a paved courtyard.

The upstairs landing with a lovely linen cupboard.

The main bedroom with touches of blue and an elegant French bed.

The beautiful en-suite is so spacious and leads out into the garden.

Another bedroom which is so pretty. I love the cream coloured console and painting above it.

Notice the beautiful outlook from the French doors.

And another pretty bathroom.

Inviting patio leading out into the garden

A beautiful home and a beautiful view!

Wishing you all well and thank-you for visiting!

Till next time

Wonderful Waterford

Some beautiful winter sun over a long weekend went a long way to restoring my good humour which I seem to have lost recently. Yes, the weather, coupled with a visit to the wonderful Waterford Wine Estate followed by delicious food and great music at the Root 44 market, definitely improved my mood.

I forgot to take my camera, so most of these pics comes from the Waterford website (here) except for a few that I took with my phone.
Waterford, above, is built in style reminiscent of a chateau in Bordeaux. The picture below is of an actual chateau in Bordeaux. Can you see why I felt like I was in France for the day!

The beautiful winery is surrounded by rolling lawns, ancient citrus groves and lavender beds.

The stone used in the building is from local quarries and the timber came from the estate itself.

The building surrounds a courtyard, in the centre of which is a beautiful fountain, the symbol of Waterford Wine.

My favourite feature of the building is this stone tower over the entrance.

I love the green shutters. A bit of a change from the usual grey-blue associated with French homes.

Beautiful scenery, every way you look!

So, if you are looking for something to do, I highly recommend a visit to Waterford. You can even do a wine and chocolate tasting, like we did.

And I guarantee you will end up in a very good mood!
